The Universities of the Future project short-courses programme is moving forward and a new course for professionals is ready to start in Porto, Portugal.
Instituto Politécnico do Porto (P.PORTO) is now announcing its first short-course duration for professionals under the topics related to industry 4.0. This first course will focus on Machine Learning and Data Analytics to Predictive Maintenance and aims to give to the participants a deeper understanding of Predictive Maintenance and its advantages, as well as knowledge of the process and tools required for its implementation. At the end of the course, the participants will:
- Be able to recognize the added value of Predictive Maintenance;
- Understand the basics of Machine Learning;
- Be familiar with the process of predicting failures and with some of the algorithms that can be used;
- Know some of the most used intelligent data analysis tools.
This course starts on the 31st January 2020, and will have eight sessions taking place every Friday from 6 pm to 9 pm and every Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm, at Porto Design Factory (PDF) (Rua Dr. António Bernardino de Almeida, 537, Porto).
The sessions will cover the following subjects:
Session 1 – Introduction / Data Analysis with R
Course objectives | Introduction to Predictive Maintenance | Installation, and configuration of the R development environment
Session 2 – Introduction / Data Analysis with R
Installation and configuration of the R development environment | Essential R concepts
Session 3 – Machine Learning / Data Exploration
Introduction to Machine Learning | Exploratory analysis of labeled data
Session 4 – Supervised Learning
Supervised learning algorithms in the context of Predictive Maintenance
Session 5 – Supervised Learning
Supervised learning algorithms in the context of Predictive Maintenance
Session 6 – Data Exploration
Exploratory analysis of unlabeled data
Session 7 – Unsupervised Learning
Unsupervised learning algorithms in the context of Predictive Maintenance
Session 8 – Unsupervised Learning
Unsupervised learning algorithms in the context of Predictive Maintenance
This continuous training course is part of the short-courses programme that the Universities of the Future consortium is preparing to expand the current offer of academic partners in terms of lifelong learning courses. It addresses professionals in industry interested in re/upskilling their knowledge and skills in topics related to industry 4.0, better equipping them to undertake or keep pace with organizational/job-related changes.
